First thing is that there IS trading with people in your group.

If you group with someone that bots, they can toss you items that would normally be too good to just give away.

This can trickle down, if you group with a friend and he groups with someone that bots.

Now his gear is good because his botter friend gives him gear and now hes able to give you gear.

If you accept these items youve had your game affected by someone elses cheating.

Even if you dont accept the items from them just having the botter in your game is affecting how you progress by increasing your kill speeds.

Secondly, I think there is some jealousy - Not that jealousy is really bad.

You work hard for your gear grinding away 3-4 hours a day and not getting anything really good and you look over and you see someone thats been online 24 hours a day for weeks and theyre paragon level 600 and they have amazing gear and theyve only actually played for an hour.

Youre thinking damn that guy and his amazing gear that he didnt do shit to earn it.

You think maybe I should just start botting but you dont because you like to play by the rules.

If there are no rules, there is no game.

Share Report Save level 2 6 years ago I care because when my friends bot and we then group together, his 300k more dps than mine because of his botting makes me feel like shit because I spent more time on this game than he did.

Botters get more rewards for less effort and thats not okay in a game where the only fucking objective is rewards.

Dont really get the point of botting.

I have friends that do this and they confirmed they use it.

Share Report Save Continue this thread level 1 7 years ago Ill be frank, Ive only been playing diablo for about a month total, but I feel I can add to the subject from my WoW experience.

Blizzard will rarely, if ever, find botting and outright ban the offenders, usually its the same with cheaters.

What is done instead is find the problem, identify the problem, learn about it and then completely wipe the hell out of it.

What I mean is, Blizzard is most probably not going to just ban the people they know are botting so far, they will try to be able to identify all botters while at the same time trying to prevent further botting so a simple patch doesnt bring them in again.

Advantages about this Its better long term, you dont fix some people botting, you fix people being able to bot, and you do punish them all in the end, you just do it later.
